1. Who this policy covers
This policy explains how Maple Leaf Combat collects, uses and protects personal information on this website. We handle personal information in line with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where they apply, provincial privacy laws such as Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25) and the Personal Information Protection Acts of Alberta and British Columbia.
2. What we collect
| Information | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | You sign up or log in in the User Area | To send your magic link, create your account and reserve your Welcome Offer |
| Name, email and message | You use the contact form | To reply to you |
| Cookie choice | You answer the cookie bar | To remember your choice |
| Usage and device data | Only if you select “Accept all” on the cookie bar | To measure visits and our advertising (see the Cookie Policy) |
We don’t ask for payment details, phone numbers, postal addresses or government ID.
3. Consent
We collect and use your information with your consent. Signing up consents to the account emails we need to send (magic links and launch notices about your Welcome Offer). Analytics and advertising cookies stay off unless you choose “Accept all”. Under Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we send promotional email only if you separately opt in, and every promotional email includes a working unsubscribe link. You can withdraw consent at any time.
4. How we use and share it
- We use your information only for the purposes above. We don’t sell it.
- Service providers that host the site, send email or provide analytics process information on our behalf, under contracts that require comparable protection.
- Some of these providers may store information outside Canada, for example in the United States. When that happens, the information is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessed by its authorities.
5. Retention
We keep account information while your account is open and delete or anonymize it within 90 days of closure. Contact messages are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted.
6. Safeguards
We protect personal information with safeguards suited to its sensitivity, including encrypted connections, single-use sign-in links and restricted staff access. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we’ll notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires.
7. Your rights
You can ask to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- withdraw your consent, or have your account and information deleted;
- where Quebec law applies, receive your information in a structured, commonly used technological format.
Make a request through the contact form. We reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, where it applies, your provincial privacy commissioner.
8. Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child has signed up can ask us to delete the account.
9. Changes
We’ll post any update here with a new date, and tell account holders by email about material changes.
10. Contact
