1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of the Maple Leaf Combat website at mapleleafcombat.com, your Maple Leaf Combat account and the pre-registration Welcome Offer. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
2. What Maple Leaf Combat is
Maple Leaf Combat is a free-to-play team sparring video game played in a web browser. The game is currently in pre-registration: it can’t be played on this website yet. Pre-registering reserves an account and the Welcome Offer for launch.
The game contains no real-money features. Nothing on this site or in the game can be bought, won or exchanged for money or any other real-world reward.
3. Your account
- You sign up and log in with your email address and a single-use magic link. There is no password.
- Keep access to your email account secure: anyone who can open your magic link can enter your account.
- One account per person. Accounts are personal and can’t be sold or transferred.
- You must give a valid email address that you control.
- If you are under the age of majority in your province or territory, use the site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf.
4. The Welcome Offer
The Exclusive Welcome Offer (6,000 Sap Shards + Ember, plus the items listed on the homepage) is free. It is reserved on your account when you pre-register and delivered in three drops (Day 1, Day 3 and Day 7) after the game launches. One Welcome Offer per account. We may adjust the delivery schedule if the launch date changes, and we’ll tell you by email if we do.
5. Sap Shards and in-game items
Sap Shards are an in-game currency. Sap Shards and all other in-game items have no monetary value and can’t be exchanged for cash, transferred to another account or redeemed outside the game. They give you a limited, personal licence to use content inside Maple Leaf Combat, not ownership of anything.
6. Fair play
- No cheating, automation, exploits or unauthorized software.
- No harassment, hate speech or abusive names, messages or content.
- No attempt to access other players’ accounts or interfere with the service.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, after telling you why where the law requires it.
7. Content and intellectual property
The Maple Leaf Combat name, logo, characters (including Ember, Brix and Huxley), artwork and text belong to us or our licensors. You may share links and screenshots for personal, non-commercial purposes.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep the site available but can’t promise it will be uninterrupted. We may update features, the launch plan or these terms. When we make a material change, we’ll update the date above and, if you have an account, tell you by email before it takes effect.
9. Liability
The site and pre-registration are provided free of charge. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the consumer protection laws of your province or territory that can’t be excluded by contract.
10. Ending your account
You can ask us to close your account at any time through the contact form. Closing an account cancels any Welcome Offer drops not yet delivered.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you live elsewhere in Canada, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your own province or territory and may bring a claim in its courts.
